Programme Manager
Rising Mains Capital Works / Building Services Project Engineer
Location: Supplier Office / NE & YE Operating Areas
Contract: Full-Time Equivalent, ~12 Months (may extend based on programme progress)
Salary: Competitive day rate (£400-£500/day depending on experience)

We are supporting a large-scale infrastructure programme focused on the repair, reinstatement, and maintenance of rising mains across residential properties. This programme is critical for maintaining safe and reliable water services while minimising disruption for residents. The work spans multiple licence areas and involves complex coordination with contractors, local authorities, housing associations, and other stakeholders, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and compliance.
As Programme Manager, you will take full ownership of programme delivery from planning through completion. You will manage contractors, oversee work packages, monitor budgets, maintain schedules, and provide reporting to senior stakeholders. This role requires both strategic oversight and practical engineering knowledge, ensuring programme objectives are achieved across multiple sites.
The Role
- Lead delivery of the rising mains capital works programme.
- Manage budgets, schedules, risks, and reporting.
- Coordinate contractors, tenders, and handover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and safety standards.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including local authorities and housing associations.
The Person
- Senior engineer or programme manager with complex infrastructure experience.
- Experience in building services, civil, or utilities projects desirable.
- Track record managing multiple projects, budgets, and contractors.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
- HNC or Degree in Engineering; NEBOSH preferred.
- UK Driving Licence essential - travel to offices and sites required.
