As the Head of Energy and Decarbonisation, you will oversee and lead projects through the full lifecycle, from initial audits and funding applications to construction verification and post-completion performance validation. You will be responsible for managing and developing a high-performing energy engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of decarbonisation initiatives while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.

The Role:

  • Lead Investment Grade Audits (IGAs), Proposals (IGPs), and Heat Decarbonisation Plans (HDP)
  • Oversee funding applications, including Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS)
  • Manage and develop energy engineering teams through all project phases
  • Supervise energy audits, feasibility studies, and carbon savings calculations
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for efficient project delivery
  • Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to resolve issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and energy policies


The Person:

  • Degree in Energy Engineering or related discipline (Chartered Engineer preferred)
  • Extensive experience in energy performance contracting or consulting
  • Proven leadership in managing teams and complex projects
  • Expertise in energy audits, decarbonisation strategies, and energy systems
  • Strong skills in financial modelling, carbon savings, and energy calculations
  • Excellent communicator with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
