Job description
General Manager (Manufacturing - Industrial / Contract Manufacturing)
Relocation to California required (Relocation Package Included)
Ideal Locations: Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Ohio, and other US manufacturing hubs
$200,000 Base + 30% Bonus + Full Benefits
Are you a hands-on Plant Manager or General Manager from an industrial or contract manufacturing environment, looking to take full ownership of a manufacturing site where results, accountability, and execution matter?
This is a site-based leadership role for an operationally strong leader who is comfortable being accountable for performance and driving change through clear standards, data, and daily management.
The company is a global industrial manufacturer supporting multiple markets. The site requires strong operational ownership, cultural reset, and performance discipline, and the successful candidate will play a key role in aligning the organization around measurable results.
This role is suited to an early to mid-career operations leader who has already led change at site level and is looking for a role with greater responsibility, visibility, and impact.
In this role, you will relocate to California with relocation support and take full responsibility for a manufacturing operation requiring alignment, structure, and improved performance. You will be accountable for results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people, and will be expected to establish a clear operating rhythm built around KPIs and performance management.
You will lead Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Customer-facing teams, and act as the senior on-site leader responsible for execution, standards, and accountability.
The Ideal Candidate (Non-Negotiable)
This role requires a leader who leads from the operation.
You must be comfortable taking singular ownership for site performance and managing objectively by numbers. You will be expected to make clear decisions, set expectations, and address underperformance directly when required.
You must be process-driven, with a practical understanding of why systems, controls, and quality processes exist, and how they support consistent operational performance. You should be comfortable implementing and enforcing structure rather than inheriting it.
Clear communication, humility, and the ability to drive execution without ambiguity are essential in this change-oriented environment.
The Role
- Take full ownership of site operations, performance, and culture
- Lead the alignment and integration of manufacturing operations
- Establish and maintain daily KPI management across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and labour
- Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement through daily management
- Own full P&L responsibility and act quickly on performance deviations
- Lead Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Customer Service teams
- Act as the senior on-site leader accountable for results and change
- Host customer visits and confidently present site performance
Overall package: $200,000 base + 30% bonus + full benefits + relocation
The Person
- Proven Plant Manager, General Manager, or Site Operations Leader
- Background in industrial, regulated, or contract manufacturing
- Experience leading a 100+ employee manufacturing site
- Track record of driving change, raising standards, and improving performance
- Comfortable leading through data, KPIs, and performance management
- Practical Lean manufacturing experience
- ERP exposure and data-led decision-making capability
