$130,000 - $150,000 + Full Benefits + Long-Term Progression + Professional Development Support
Are you an experienced Hydrogeologist or Environmental Engineer looking to lead technically complex environmental projects?

I am currently representing a well-established environmental and water technology consultancy that has been operating for over 50 years, delivering sustainable solutions to complex water and environmental challenges. They work with commercial, industrial, mining, municipal and government clients across Canada and are looking to strengthen their Ottawa team with a Senior Hydrogeologist or Environmental Engineer.


In this role, you will oversee and execute hydrogeological studies, environmental site assessments (Phase I & II), remediation projects, and terrain analysis for a wide range of clients including land developers, landfill operators, pits and quarries, and municipalities. You will manage projects from proposal stage through to completion, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development initiatives.


The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in hydrogeology and contaminated sites, alongside leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills.

The Role:


  • Design and supervise hydrogeological and ESA field programs

  • Conduct groundwater and surface water monitoring, drilling oversight, well installations and pumping tests

  • Manage projects (budgets, proposals, timelines and client communication)

  • Conduct peer reviews and provide technical oversight

  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff

  • Contribute to business development and stakeholder engagement


The Candidate:


  • Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences, Geological, Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master's in Hydrogeology an asset)

  • 10+ years' experience in hydrogeology, ESAs and remediation projects

  • Experience with Ontario Regulation 153/04 (RSC filing) and 406/19 (Excess Soils/QP)

  • Strong knowledge of Ontario environmental regulations

  • Strong technical report writing skills (English required; French an asset)

  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel occasionally
