London

Are you an experienced mechanical plant engineer looking to step into a more senior service and breakdown role within a growing renewable energy business?

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Plant Engineer with 2 to 3 years experience working on mechanical plant or district heating systems. This role is ideal for someone confident with service, breakdowns, and fault finding on complex energy centre plant, who enjoys taking ownership of issues and keeping critical systems running.
This company specialises in the design, delivery, and operation of cutting edge District Heating Systems and has recently secured several major projects across London. They offer an inclusive and supportive working culture that promotes diversity, wellbeing, and long term development. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their maintenance team with a more senior engineer.
In this role, you will focus heavily on service and breakdown work across energy centres, responding to plant failures, restoring heating, and carrying out planned maintenance where required. You will also be part of a 1 in 4 call out rota, supporting critical infrastructure outside of normal hours.
The Role
* Service, fault-find, and repair mechanical plant including pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, and pressurisation units.
* Respond to reactive breakdowns and restore heating across district heating sites.
* Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to ensure plant reliability.
* Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
* Participate in a 1 in 4 call out rota supporting critical plant.
The Person
* 2-3 years' experience on mechanical plant or district heating systems.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
* NVQ Level 2-3 or equivalent mechanical qualification.
* Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams.
* Willingness to travel across London/South East and take part in callouts.
