Manufacturing Engineer

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a fast-growing, industry-leading manufacturer known for delivering custom-engineered solutions across North America. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on optimizing production processes, improving methods, and staying closely linked to what's happening on the manufacturing floor.
This is a hands-on position that bridges engineering and production. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams to refine Bills of Materials (BOMs), improve workflows, optimize production processes, and ensure high levels of manufacturability across a range of custom-built dock seals and shelters. You'll also provide feedback on real-time floor issues and help drive continuous improvements in material usage, product design, and assembly methods.

The Role:
Serve as a key link between product development and production, ensuring efficient and effective manufacturing processes
Optimize existing manufacturing methods and materials to improve quality, consistency, and cost-efficiency
Provide real-time engineering support and feedback on shop floor issues
Refine and maintain BOMs, work instructions, and production documentation using MRP/ERP systems
Analyze material and process workflows, with particular focus on wood, vinyl, and foam-based components
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts using Lean and Six Sigma principles
Participate in product development (~20-30% of the time) with focus on manufacturability
Travel to the US for onboarding and training (2-3 times in the first few months)
The Person:
Background in manufacturing or industrial engineering
Experience working with wood, vinyl, or foam in a manufacturing environment (essential)
Familiarity with BOM creation, process optimization, and ERP/MRP systems
Comfortable working on the production floor and communicating with cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Exposure to SolidWorks or CAD-based systems is a plus
