Claims Quantity Surveyor - Project Role
Contract: 6-9 Months (Full-Time) - Outside IR35
Location: Kingston
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Negotiable
We are supporting a leading international EPC contractor in their search for a Claims Quantity Surveyor to join their project team in Kingston. This role will focus on the preparation, substantiation, and negotiation of contractual claims to protect the contractor's financial and legal interests throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with the Project Manager and wider commercial team, you will analyse contractual documentation, manage subcontractor claims, and provide expert support on contractual risk and dispute resolution.
The Role
Analyse contract documents, project plans, and correspondence to identify potential claims and contractual risks
Prepare, assess, and submit claims for additional costs, variations, extensions of time, and other contractual entitlements
Review subcontractor claims against project scope and agree cost and time impacts with the subcontractor team in support of the Project Manager
Assess subcontractor claims against the main contract scope and prepare the onward submission of claims including contractor entitlements
Quantify and substantiate claims through detailed evidence including site records, schedules, and cost data
Collaborate with project teams, clients, contractors, and legal advisors to resolve claims efficiently
Negotiate settlements and support formal dispute resolution processes where required
Maintain accurate records of claims and supporting documentation for reporting and audit purposes
Provide advice on contractual matters, claims strategy, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle
The Person
Proven experience as a Claims Quantity Surveyor or in a similar claims/commercial role within a project environment
Strong understanding of contract law, cost management, and dispute resolution procedures
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard commercial reporting tools
