Workshop Team Leader

Are you from a manufacturing or production background with strong hands-on experience and some leadership exposure, looking to step into a senior, floor-based role within a well-established UK manufacturer offering long-term stability, variety, and a friendly, team-based environment?
On offer is an excellent opportunity to take a lead position within a specialist manufacturing company that produces high-end products for customers across the UK and overseas. This is a practical, workshop-based role where you will remain technically involved while supporting and guiding a skilled team on a day-to-day basis.
This well-established company has built a reputation for quality craftsmanship and innovative product design. They're continuing to grow their UK production and are now seeking an experienced workshop professional to lead from the front across a multi-department site covering machining, wiring, assembly, and product finishing.
In this role, you will be the go-to person on the workshop floor, coordinating engineers, supporting daily operations, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. You'll be hands-on with both traditional and CNC machinery, play a key role in supporting new designs and prototypes, and work closely with engineering and operations to drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing or production environment, with strong hands-on workshop experience and the confidence to lead, support, and motivate a team. This role would suit someone looking for long-term stability, progression, and the chance to be involved in exciting product development.
The Role:
Leading day-to-day workshop floor operations
Supporting engineers, builds, and prototypes
Assisting with product development and continuous improvement
Monday to Friday, days-based position
The Person:
Background in manufacturing, machining, or production environments
Hands-on experience with traditional workshop tools and machinery
Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising engineers or technicians
Based within commutable distance of Alton
