Reigate, Surrey (Office Based)

£75,000 to £90,000 + £450pm Car Allowance + Mileage + Excellent Benefits

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established, family-run civil engineering subcontractor experiencing great growth, with genuine scope to shape a department and progress beyond senior level.

This respected subcontractor has been operating for nearly 30 years and delivers highways, civil engineering, and groundworks projects across London and Surrey. Working with major clients on long-term maintenance and rejuvenation frameworks, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality, reliability, and repeat work. With turnover set to almost double and plans for further expansion, this is an exciting time to join.

In this role, you will take ownership of commercial delivery across multiple projects, supporting junior team members while leading cost control, take-offs, contract management, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in securing and delivering projects, working closely with directors and operational teams in a flexible, hands-on environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong civil engineering experience, NEC contract knowledge, and the confidence to manage projects end to end. This role would suit someone who enjoys responsibility, mentoring others, and contributing to the strategic growth of a business.

The Role:

  • Managing NEC contracts across highways and civil engineering projects
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts
  • Producing accurate quantity take-offs using industry software
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying risks and variations
  • Managing change control, variations, and commercial claims
  • Negotiating with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
  • Providing regular cost reports and financial updates to stakeholders
  • Office-based role with site visits as required


The Person:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong background in civil engineering or groundworks
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Experience producing take-offs and managing multiple projects
  • Based within commutable distance of Reigate
