This consultancy is respected in the transport and infrastructure sector, delivering design solutions across residential, educational, healthcare, sporting, environmental, and mixed-use projects. In this role, you'll lead the delivery of highway designs to programme, budget and technical standards. You'll manage team resources, collaborate across offices, and ensure designs meet Authority and Statutory requirements. You'll review and approve technical outputs, ensure compliance with DMRB, MCHW and CDM, and drive innovation, quality and continuous improvement within the team.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Section 278/38 highway design, confident project and team management skills, and a solid grasp of DMRB standards and contract documentation. Proficient in relevant software, you'll bring sound technical judgement, experience in drainage design, and the ability to mentor others while advising clients at a senior level.

The Role

  • Deliver highway designs to programme, budget and technical standards, incorporating Authority and statutory requirements.
  • Manage team resources and support cross-office collaboration to meet project priorities.
  • Review, approve and provide feedback on design outputs in line with DMRB/MCHW and local guidance.
  • Promote innovation, ensure CDM and Health & Safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement within the team.

  • Expertise in highway design, drainage design, and use of relevant software
