Nationwide (Remote or Exeter / Leeds HQ)

£70,000 - £90,000 + Bonus + Holiday + Pension + Hybrid

My client, a pioneering renewable energy business with over four decades of history, began by providing off-grid power to remote locations and has evolved into a leader in sustainable energy solutions. Today, they are committed to saving 1 million tonnes of CO₂ by 2025, delivering large-scale solar, wind, and hydro projects across the UK. Their approach blends technical expertise with a mission-driven culture, empowering their team to make a tangible environmental impact.

You will play a critical role in advising on a range of real estate and renewable energy projects, delivering commercially sound legal solutions from property transactions to Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating acquisition and lease agreements, advising on title and land registration, ensuring compliance on renewable energy developments, and protecting the business legally across all areas of operation. This role offers autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to work at the forefront of the UK's clean energy transition.

You are a qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE, bringing proven expertise in both real estate and renewable energy. Commercially minded and detail-oriented, you can manage complex transactions while balancing legal rigour with practical solutions. Passionate about sustainability, you are motivated by contributing to ambitious environmental goals while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking team.

The Role

  • Manage real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leases, and due diligence.
  • Provide legal support for renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, and hydro.
  • Draft and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other key contracts.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance, land use, and environmental matters.
  • Ensure the business is legally protected across all areas of operation.

The Person

  • Qualified solicitor with expertise in real estate law and renewable energy projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE with proven track record in handling complex property transactions.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to provide practical legal solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Passionate about sustainability and contributing to a zero-carbon future.
