Process Engineer (Solar)
$90,000-$120,000 + Full Benefits + 20 Days PTO + Training + Progression

Are you a Process Engineer ready to develop and scale next-generation solar manufacturing processes?
On offer is the opportunity to lead material and process development for perovskite-based solar modules, optimize roll-to-roll manufacturing systems, conduct experiments from lab to pilot scale, and influence production-scale outcomes. This company is a US-based deep-tech solar start-up scaling breakthrough photovoltaic technology. They are pioneering high-efficiency solar materials using roll-to-roll manufacturing and perovskites, aiming to reduce the cost of solar energy and accelerate the energy transition. On offer is a high-impact technical role. You will plan and execute experiments, evaluate materials and process performance, optimize manufacturing lines, and develop documentation and SOPs. You'll be empowered to showcase your technical expertise, propose improvements, and help scale new solar manufacturing processes from concept to production.
This role would suit a hands-on, detail-oriented engineer with strong process knowledge, a passion for renewable energy, and the ability to contribute in a start-up, fast-paced environment.
The Role:
- Conduct experiments to develop new and improved materials and manufacturing processes for high-performance solar modules
- Plan and execute lab and pilot-scale experiments, analyzing results to drive continuous improvement
- Perform material characterization using SEM, AFM, XRF, profilometry, and assist with in-line metrology tool selection
- Optimize industrial processes for stable, high-volume manufacturing and assist with production line layout
The Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical field
- Hands-on experience in thin-film product and process development, roll-to-roll manufacturing, and web handling
- Familiarity with advanced coating and patterning techniques such as gravure, slot-die, flexographic printing, and laser processing
- Experience with product/process start-up and scale-up in production environments
