Lecturer in Land Based (Livestock) (Contract)

Lackham, site based

£40 to £50 per hour

Temporary contract, 3 months expected with possible extension

This well regarded education provider is established and highly respected within the land-based education sector. The college offers excellent facilities and a structured, supportive environment where contract lecturers can focus on teaching, practical support, and learner progression.

This temporary contract role is designed to support delivery of livestock and animal care programmes. You will teach theory and practical sessions, assess learner work, and contribute to learner development in line with awarding body standards. Schemes of work and teaching resources are in place to support your delivery.

The Role

  • Deliver practical and theory sessions to learners in livestock and animal care

  • Support learner development and assessment in line with awarding body standards

  • Use existing schemes of work and teaching resources to deliver structured lessons

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and maintain a safe, compliant learning environment

  • Provide constructive feedback to learners and support their progression

The Person

  • Recognised teaching qualification or relevant lecturing experience in land-based education

  • Practical experience in livestock management, animal care, or related areas

  • Experience teaching or lecturing in an FE, agricultural, or land-based setting

  • Knowledge of animal welfare, health and safety, and relevant legislation

  • Confident, independent, and able to manage practical and classroom delivery effectively
