Fiber Solutions Designer
Chicago or Relocators - Regular Travel to Indiana
$90,000 - $100,000 + Bonus + Relocation Support + Progression + Training + Full Benefits
Excellent opportunity on offer for an experienced Fiber Solutions Designer with a strong automotive corrugated packaging background, to join a global packaging and logistics organization where you will work on high-volume, technically demanding programs for international customers.
On offer is a design-focused role with significant customer exposure, working closely with a strategic corrugated manufacturing partner and internal commercial and engineering teams. You will be given ownership of multiple automotive packaging projects and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international environment with high expectations around speed, quality, and precision.
This company is a globally established packaging and logistics solutions provider with thousands of employees worldwide, supporting leading customers across the automotive and industrial sectors. Due to continued growth within automotive programs in North America, they are creating a new Fiber Solutions Designer position to strengthen their corrugated packaging capability and customer support.
In this role, you will be primarily based from a site in the Chicago area, with regular on-site work at a key corrugated supplier in Indiana. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating corrugated packaging solutions for automotive customers, working closely with customers on a weekly basis and collaborating with internal technical, sales, and project teams across the Americas.
The ideal candidate will be a Fiber Solutions Designer or Corrugated Packaging Designer with proven automotive experience, strong 2D and 3D CAD capability, and a background working directly with customers and suppliers on demanding, time-sensitive projects.
The Role:
* Designing corrugated packaging solutions for automotive customers
* Regular interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
* Producing and reviewing 2D and 3D CAD designs
* Supporting prototyping, testing, and validation activities
* Managing multiple projects across North and South America
* Chicago-based role with frequent travel to Indiana
The Person:
* Fiber Solutions Designer / Corrugated Packaging Designer
* Automotive packaging experience (essential)
* Strong 2D CAD (ArtiosCAD) and 3D CAD capability (SolidWorks preferred)
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
* Open to relocation if not already Chicago-based
* Must be seeking a long-term, permanent opportunity
