Electronics Engineer (Design & Compliance)
Cambridge | Hybrid with at least 3 to 4 days per week on-site
£55,000 to £75,000 per year DOE + 37.5 hours per week + Holiday + Pension + Private Medical

This role is central to the hands on electronic design ownership and global compliance of intrinsically safe, battery powered Industrial Wireless IoT devices used in hazardous environments. You will act as the technical owner for electronic hardware designs, managing engineering and design changes while playing a key role in the development of next generation corrosion monitoring hardware.
You will take products through ATEX, IECEx and UL certification in line with IEC and EN 60079 standards, while also owning EMC, RED and FCC compliance activities. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will ensure designs, documentation and manufacturing records meet regulatory requirements as the business expands into new international markets.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electronic hardware design. You will have strong EMC and some product safety / compliance experience, with exposure to ATEX, IECEx, UL or related safety standards desirable.

The Role:
* Act as technical owner for electronic hardware designs, managing engineering and design changes
* Contribute to the design and development of next generation corrosion monitoring products
* Lead hazardous area and intrinsic safety compliance for new and existing products
* Deliver ATEX, IECEx and UL certification activities in line with IEC and EN 60079 standards from concept to approval
* Own EMC, RED, FCC and radio compliance including planning, testing and evidence capture
* Build and maintain complete technical files and detailed documentation
* Support manufacturing, supply chain, audits and engineering change processes
* Hybrid role based in Cambridge, typically three to four days onsite
The Person:
* Electronics engineer with experience in product safety compliance or certification for electronic hardware
* Exposure to ATEX, IECEx, UL, EMC, radio and FCC standards ideal
* Ability to read schematics and review PCB layouts
* Accurate documentation skills and strong attention to detail
* Proactive, organised and comfortable working cross functionally
* Based within a commutable distance of Cambridge and happy with hybrid working
