In this role, the Design Engineer will create bespoke pump systems for blue-chip clients, taking projects from the first 3D CAD concept through to final technical blueprints. You'll be the bridge between the customer and the workshop, ensuring every design is accurately tested, parts are correctly sourced, and the final prototype is built to perfection.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in mechanical design, with a relevant engineering degree or proven relevant experience. It's essential to have a strong understanding of the manufacturing process and be experienced using 3D CAD software (ideally SolidWorks). Experience with turbomachinery or rotating machines is highly desirable.

The Role:
- Design Engineer of bespoke pump systems for reputable, blue chip clients
- Understand customer requirements, and maintain communication throughout to resolve issues and update on progress
- Create concept designs using CAD and carry out validation activities
- Produce and interpret technical drawings for bespoke pump systems using GD&T
- Liaise closely with production team to resolve manufacturing issues and oversee prototype builds
- Write specifications for purchasing team and liaise with suppliers
- Office based role
The Person:
- Mechanical Design Engineer
- Degree in an engineering discipline, or strong relevant experience
- Experience in CAD Modelling (ideally SolidWorks)
- Good understanding of the manufacturing process
- Experience with turbomachinery or rotating machines beneficial
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
