Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical (Industrial Projects)

Excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager from an industrial mechanical background looking to step into a role with real responsibility, hands-on project exposure, and a clear development path toward becoming a Project Manager.

What You'll Be Doing
Supporting the delivery of industrial mechanical projects from early stages through close-out, including:
- Assisting a Senior Project Manager with daily project coordination
- Tracking and reporting job activities and progress
- Creating and managing submittal logs with a focus on turnaround and approvals
- Managing requisition logs and supporting material buyout
- Coordinating material takeoffs, procurement, submittals, and site deliveries
- Working with General Contractors, Subcontractors, Inspectors, Designers, and technical teams
- Assisting with new work pricing and change order estimates
- Monitoring labor and material budgets
- Keeping all project documentation and deliverables current
- Supporting system troubleshooting, startups, and punch list close-out
- Assisting with site inspections and quality control
What They're Looking For
- Background in industrial mechanical environments
- Experience with heavy piping, manufacturing facilities, plant upgrades, or similar
- Shipyard or mechanical military experience will be seriously considered
- Strong organizational skills and a practical, problem-solving mindset
Preferred but not essential:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or currently enrolled)
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or piping environments
