Application Engineer - Electrical Systems (Construction Projects)

Do you have a strong electrical background combined with a commercial or customer-facing mindset?
I am currently representing a well-established electrical engineering contractor that delivers full electrical solutions for large construction projects such as office buildings, schools, factories, and specialist installations including offshore wind projects. They are looking to add a permanent Application Engineer to their team in Rotterdam to support continued innovation and growth.
In this role, you will act as the technical interface between customers and internal engineering teams, advising on complex electrical solutions, understanding customer requirements, and delivering detailed consultations, quotations, and lead times. You will be involved early in projects, helping shape technical solutions that meet both customer and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will bring a strong electrical engineering foundation alongside a commercial mindset. You will be comfortable meeting customers, advising on technical solutions, and working closely with design and engineering teams to deliver complex projects. Internal training will be provided on company processes, capabilities, and quotation structures.
The Role:
- Meet customers to understand complex electrical requirements
- Advise and design suitable electrical and automated solutions
- Provide technical consultation, quotations, and project lead times
- Work closely with electrical design and engineering teams
- Support innovation across new and existing client projects
The Candidate:
- HBO or MBO4 qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of complex electrical installations
- Commercial mindset; customer-facing or application engineering experience
- Fluent in Dutch (English desirable)
- Based in or commutable to Rotterdam
