Are you a Civil Engineer with experience in design coordination, technical assurance or handover on infrastructure projects?

Do you want to join a major UK infrastructure programme, working across a variety of civil engineering assets with the opportunity to develop into railway systems in the future?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure programme at an important stage of delivery. There are multiple Project Engineer positions available, supporting work across bridges, viaducts, excavations, earthworks and highway diversions.

Working alongside a Senior Project Engineer, you will help coordinate the technical information and specialist input needed to progress civil engineering works through design, construction and handover. You will work with contractors, designers and subject matter experts to address engineering queries, review evidence and support the approval of completed assets.

The role would suit someone from a consultancy, contractor or client-side background who has been involved in the design, assurance or handover of civil engineering projects. Experience on major infrastructure programmes would be beneficial, although previous railway experience is not essential.

The position is primarily office based in Birmingham Snow Hill, with occasional travel to project sites. There is around four years of civil engineering work planned, with potential opportunities to move into the railway systems team as the programme progresses.

The Role:

* Supporting a Senior Project Engineer across civil engineering assets and work packages.
* Coordinating technical queries and information between contractors, designers and subject matter experts.
* Reviewing design and construction evidence against project requirements.
* Supporting assurance reviews and the documentation needed for approval and handover to railway systems teams.
* Attending risk reduction meetings and helping coordinate input from the relevant technical specialists.
* Supporting CDM-related activities and the preparation and review of health and safety files.
* Office based in Birmingham Snow Hill, with occasional site travel.

The Person:

* Civil engineering background with experience in design coordination, technical assurance, compliance or handover.
* Experience on infrastructure or major construction projects involving assets such as bridges, earthworks or highways
* Able to coordinate information and communicate with multidisciplinary teams
* Understanding of construction safety and CDM requirements
* Awareness of how engineering decisions can affect cost and programme
* Comfortable reviewing technical documentation and using IT systems.
* Consultancy, contractor or client-side experience considered
* Previous rail experience is not essential.
