Monday - Thursday (12:00pm - 22:00pm)

On offer is a key position within a well-established heavy engineering business, where you will be central to keeping production moving through proactive preventative maintenance and fast, effective fault-finding and repair.

The company produce high-quality iron and steel castings for wider engineering sectors, operating across two manufacturing plants. As a result of continued demand and workload, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team.

In this role you will carry out PPM and reactive maintenance, diagnose and rectify faults on foundry plant and ancillary equipment, and support improvements to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.

This role would suit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who wants a challenging, hands-on position with real responsibility, variety across site equipment, and the chance to drive improvements and be recognised for the results you deliver.

The Role:

• PPM and reactive mechanical maintenance in a heavy engineering environment
• Fault finding, diagnosis and repair to minimise downtime and maintain safe operation
• Maintenance of mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Support continuous improvement and root-cause work to improve reliability and productivity
• Flexibility required for the needs of production, including overtime and weekends when required

The Person:

• Mechanical maintenance experience in a production / manufacturing environment (foundry experience beneficial)
• Strong fault-finding skills with a proactive, safety-focused approach
• Hands-on mechanical skillset (hydraulics/pneumatics; welding/fabrication and machining skills beneficial)
