This specialist college is renowned for the quality of its land-based and engineering education and has invested significantly in its practical training facilities. You'll work within a well-equipped engineering environment where students develop the skills required to become the next generation of agricultural and land-based engineers.

In this role, you'll use your existing mechanical engineering experience to teach apprentices and learners across Level 2 and Level 3 land-based engineering programmes. The training will focus on areas including mechanical systems, engines, hydraulics, transmissions, servicing, fault finding, maintenance and repair of agricultural and land-based machinery. You do not need previous teaching experience, as full teacher training and support will be provided.

The ideal candidate could come from Agricultural Engineering, Heavy Plant, Construction Plant, HGV/Heavy Vehicle or a similar heavy mechanical engineering background. What's important is that you have strong practical experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical equipment and are interested in transferring those skills into agricultural and land-based engineering.

The Role:
*Teach Level 2 & 3 Agricultural/Land-Based Engineering students and apprentices
*Training covering servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair
*Work with agricultural machinery and land-based engineering equipment
*Teach mechanical, hydraulic, engine and transmission principles
*Full training provided to become a qualified lecturer
*Monday-Friday, days based
*Excellent practical engineering facilities

The Person:
*Agricultural Engineer, Heavy Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, HGV Technician, Heavy Vehicle Technician or similar
*Strong mechanical maintenance, servicing and fault-finding experience
*Experience with agricultural machinery, heavy plant, construction equipment, HGVs or similar equipment
*Good understanding of mechanical and ideally hydraulic systems
*Relevant engineering qualification or substantial equivalent industry experience
*No previous teaching experience required
*Wants to move from industry into teaching and assessing
*Looking for improved work-life balance and a long-term career in education
